Be Prepared or Be Embarrassed!

Being prepared for any obstacle is just as important, if not more, than being a great installer.  Have you ever had that moment where you have just been so busy and forgot to check if you had any more propane?  Or, you thought you had propane because you saw the tank in the trunk but didn’t realize it was empty?  Now you’re at the job site and look like an unprofessional fool in front of your client (normally, I look like a fool by nature, but that’s ok as long as you’re still professional about it).  But now you’re stuck there looking unprofessional…   UNLESS you plan ahead.  One simple thing we do to avoid this travesty is to pack the iddy biddy “back-up-for-emergencies-like-this-only” propane tank.  This thing is so small, you can just chuck it in your tool kit and forget about it.  That is… until the day it saves your job.

We were at an install down in Mantua when we realized that the tank we had was nearly empty and eventually ran out.  Rather than ask the sign shop if they had any propane we could use because we are idiots… we cracked this baby out and were able to finish the job without a hitch.  So take my advice and pick one of these bad boys up as it is better to be prepared than embarrassed. (Sidenote:  you may also want to have a heat gun and extension cord on hand also for a just just just in caser)  -Happy Installing :)
